First of all, it must be taken into consideration that this is an unavoidable Degree in European university systems, which is present in numerous Universities in countries such as Germany, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Holland, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Portugal, United Kingdom and Sweden, as highlighted in the White Paper on History prepared by ANECA in 2005 (pp. 11-19).

Furthermore, an unavoidable question is the relationship of this Degree with an environment such as the one offered by the city and province of Cordoba, where the material and documentary testimonies of the past constitute one of the main values for cultural development and a reference as a driving force for the dynamization of tourism and local development. It would not be understood that a World Heritage City, such as this one, would not have a Degree in History, or that a province with the needs of local development that ours has, based on the protection, conservation and enhancement of cultural and natural heritage, would not make available to society a Degree in History.
